A Stylish First Impression

Transforming a hallway can be a challenge, especially when space is limited. Our customer, Kelly, recently shared how our V-groove panelling kit, complete with a custom wainscot cap that doubles as a picture shelf, completely revitalised her entryway by the front door. What was once an unloved corner, crowded with jackets, is now an inviting space that makes a great first impression on anyone walking through the door.

Kelly designed her hallway makeover, starting with a vision of how she wanted the space to feel—elevated and stylish without losing any valuable floor space. As she explains in her blog post, "Panelling is a game-changer, especially when you’re working with smaller spaces that need to be elevated with a statement piece. Panelling draws the eye upwards, away from the small floor space. It does not take up any valuable floor space but makes a visual impact."

After deciding on the height, width, and groove spacing, Kelly ordered her panelling from us at Cut My! She included the wainscot cap, which we supplied as a picture shelf. The panels arrived perfectly cut to fit the dimensions of her hallway, and the shelf now holds cherished family photos, adding a personal touch to the space.

For the finish, Kelly chose Railings from Farrow & Ball’s Estate Eggshell range, adding a bold, sophisticated look that complements the clean lines of the panelling. The result is a hallway that not only feels more spacious but also serves as a statement piece right at the entrance of her home.

This beautiful shaker with beading wall panelling kit we supplied cut to size adds an elegant and timeless look to a hallway. @jenhome51 painted it in a classic white which makes the hallway appear brighter and more inviting. Shaker panelling can easily be accessorised as this one has with coat hangers for a more functional design.

V-groove panelling can also serve as a practical backdrop in your hallway. Linda sent us a photo of her v-groove panelling, which we cut to her exact spacing dimensions. She used our additional picture shelf towards the top of the wall to add some hallway decor, making it both functional and personalised.

To add some colour and texture to your hallway, our shaker panelling with a dado rail as a wainscot is the perfect solution! @v_and_m_interiors has painted hers in a lovely light beige colour which fits perfectly underneath her framed artwork on the upper half of the wall.

For a more creative approach to our shaker panelling kit, @kilkenny_bythesea has decorated their stairway landing with our cut-to-size MDF strips. Going beyong the traditional equal square or rectangular design, they have incorporated creative geometric patterns which add a unique and visually striking element to the space. To try something like this yourself, you can either purchase a pack of MDF strips yourself and cut them down to size, or you can order your MDF sheets invidually already cut to size.

Our elegant shaker panelling with beading creates a stunning entryway and staircase. Painted in a cream valspar elk antler, this panelling adds a timeless aesthetic, while the intricate beading along the raised panels introduces a touch of classic charm. As you enter the hallway, the panelling immediately draws the eye upwards, seamlessly transitioning to the staircase walls. The consistent design creates a cohesive look that unifies the space and invites visitors to ascend the stairs with a sense of sophistication.

Hi I have worked in the construction industry for 45 years I am now retired as a Carpenter/Joiner Site Manager but as you know at home there is always an additional job/project to complete I came across Cutmy on line and Ureka you cut down my work load for extending my bedroom wardrobes around the bed by cutting my mdf doors to size which you cut to my dimensions perfectly so thanks and carry on the good quality work.

Items arrived on time and well packaged. However, a couple of the cuts are quite rough in a few places - where the wood has splintered (more than expected) presumably while being cut. For my use-case these are acceptable/will be hidden, but I would not accept this quality if they were for display/more aesthetically important use-case. I would have to return the parts affected. It makes me concerned to order the next batch (which will be the externally facing parts...). We will see!

It was fantastic to be able to buy kitchen shelves for my kitchen at a very reasonable price - approx half the cost that I could get them for on Amazon. If there are a couple of things I would change, it would be nice to have a choice of thicknesses (though a 2mm difference is not noticeable). It would also be nice if the shelf holders were supplied, but easily sourced elsewhere. The shelves themselves were a perfect fit, and in my small kitchen, I now have 50% more shelf space, so I can separate plates and bowls onto separate shelves, rather than plates ontop of bowls etc. Would definitely buy from these again, though I don't need to as I have no more room in my cupboards - was definitely worth buying an extra shelf for all my kitchen cupboards in one go to save on delivery costs.
