Installing a cooker splashback is a wise investment for both the practical protection and aesthetic enhancement of your kitchen. Splashbacks not only guard walls from grease and stains but make the room more inviting and turn the cooking zone into an artistic element.

Splashbacks Behind a Hob

It is not recommended to use a Perspex® acrylic (Gloss and Matt and Painted Splashbacks) or an Aluminium Composite Splashback behind open heat sources, such as a cooker. These materials can only tolerate temperatures of up to 80°C before discolouring and warping. Therefore, it is advised not to fit acrylic or aluminium composite splashbacks behind an electric or gas hob. However, if you have an induction hob, you may place our Matt, Gloss and Painted Splashbacks behind it with a 50mm gap between the panel and the hob. Alternatively, for an aluminium composite splashback, a 150mm gap between the panel and hob is recommended behind an induction hob.

Our toughened glass splashbacks are the most suitable option to fit behind a heat source as they have high heat resistance.

I needed to replace a large pane of glass in my shed as it had cracked. I decided to use shatter proof polycarbonate instead of glass and found Cut My online. They do custom sizes to your specification so I ordered it and it arrived within two days. Very well packaged and fitted perfectly. The polycarbonate is as clear as glass and a lot safer.
