Splashbacks Behind a Hob

It is not recommended to use a Perspex® acrylic (Gloss and Matt and Painted Splashbacks) or an Aluminium Composite Splashback behind open heat sources, such as a cooker. These materials can only tolerate temperatures of up to 80°C before discolouring and warping. Therefore, it is advised not to fit acrylic or aluminium composite splashbacks behind an electric or gas hob. However, if you have an induction hob, you may place our Matt, Gloss and Painted Splashbacks behind it with a 50mm gap between the panel and the hob. Alternatively, for an aluminium composite splashback, a 150mm gap between the panel and hob is recommended behind an induction hob.

Our toughened glass splashbacks are the most suitable option to fit behind a heat source as they have high heat resistance.

Protective Backing

Our brown gloss and matt acrylic splashbacks feature a backing layer of vinyl for a flawless finish. This protective backing conceals adhesive and evens out wall imperfections for a smooth, uniform look. The result? Easy installation with no uneven edges.

Please do not peel this off - you will know if it is the protective film as it will have a blue sticker on it stating that it shouldn't be peeled off.

Service was good, end product of my order was cut accurately and to a high standard. However, if you do not have a completely flat even surface, painted I suspect with a gloss finish, the metal tape will not stick, I had to supplement with double sided mounting tape to take out irregularities and achieve satisfactory adhesion. It is also very frustrating to only be able to communicate by email and not actually talk problems through with someone. Otherwise, I would recommend 'Cut my' and would use you again.

Fitted correctly so cut right. Would have liked an option to have the front edge coved as well. May have been an option did not see it on the site.

The perspex was very well protected from scratches and damage, delivery was a little slow as my order didn't pass there quality control witch is much better sending out inferior goods, all in all very pleased with the service and would recommend.
