The crystal-clear finish provides distortion-free viewing, allowing colours, graphics, and images to pop with vivid detail. Our clear acrylic is easy to work with using standard wood and plastic cutting tools. It can be sawed, routed, laser cut, tapped, filed, and drilled with excellent results. Made from 100% pure acrylic, our sheets are half the weight of glass but many times more impact-resistant.
Our great quality 10mm plastic sheets make a range of projects possible, everything from home decoration to business premises and public areas. 10mm acrylic sheets have good strength and durability. They can withstand impact and scratches better than glass. Acrylic has a flexural strength of around 10,000 psi, meaning a 10mm thick sheet can hold around 100 kg per square meter before bending or breaking.
Acrylic and Perspex are essentially the same material - a transparent thermoplastic often used as a lightweight alternative to glass. The main difference is the brand name. Acrylic is the generic term for this plastic polymer, while Perspex® is a trademarked brand. All of the acrylic sheets we supply at Cut My are Perspex®, ensuring you the best quality plastic ate excellent value.
There are a few options for cutting 10mm acrylic:
The key is to cut steadily and smoothly to avoid excessive heat buildup, which can cause cracking. Use sharp blade designs made for acrylic. Lubricating the cut line also helps.
