  Stops your AC working overtime
  Lowers energy consumption
  No drilling. Renter-friendly.
  Sleep through the heatwave
Take it down in autumn, reuse next year

The fabric seal that came with your portable AC was never going to work. It sags, it gaps, and the velcro gives up the moment the wind picks up. Our acrylic seal is cut to the exact size of your window, with a hole in the exact size for your AC hose, so the cold air stays in, the hot air stays out, and you actually feel the difference. Renter-friendly, tool-free installation, and built to come down at the end of summer and go back up next year.

How to order

Important: You do not need the window adapter that came with your portable AC unit, only the hose is needed.

1

Measure the opening

Height and width of the open window gap in millimeters. Add 40mm to the height and width for the hook and loop tape which attaches to the window frame.

2

Add your hose cutout

Tick Yes, choose Circle, then enter your hose diameter — usually 130mm or 150mm. You do not need the adapter, simply put the hose through the hole.

3

Add hook & loop tape

Add enough hook & loop tape for the perimeter of your window - sold in 5m rolls. The perimeter is height + width x2.

A Custom-cut AC Window Seal that Actually Works

The seal that came in the box with your AC unit was always going to let you down. The fabric sags, the velcro gives up after a few warm days, and you end up with cooled air leaking back out of the window. Our acrylic panel fixes it. Cut from premium 4mm clear or 5mm frosted opal acrylic, in our West Sussex workshop, to the exact measurements of your window. We cut the hose hole to your exact AC hose diameter. Choose clear for the view, frosted if you'd rather have privacy from neighbours. Renter-friendly (no drilling) and reusable summer after summer.

Why upgrade from a fabric kit?

The seal that came in the box with your AC vs. an acrylic panel cut to your window.

Will this work for my window?

A quick check before you order. We’d rather send you elsewhere than sell you the wrong thing.

Casement windows (hinged, open outwards)

Perfect fit. Velcro on the frame and you’re done.

Tilt-and-turn windows

Yes. Open the window fully, velcro the panel into the frame.

Sliding windows (horizontal)

Yes. Cut to the size of the opening, fit as normal.

Sash windows (vertical sliding)

Works, but the panel has to fill the full open height — which can be very tall on older sashes — and you’ll need to wedge the sash in place so it doesn’t slide down onto the panel.

Skylight or centre-pivot windows

Not a good fit for acrylic — a fabric kit will work better here.

GOOD TO KNOW

You don’t need the plastic adapter that came with your AC

The grey window seal adapter that came in the box with your portable AC unit is designed to be used with the flimsy fly away fabric seals. Our solid acrylic panel replaces it entirely, your AC hose threads straight through the cutout. Put the adapter to one side. You won’t need it.

How to Order Your AC Unit Window Seal

We offer two acrylic options for your AC unit window seal:

4mm Clear Acrylic – A transparent option that allows maximum light into your room while maintaining a clear view outside.
5mm Frosted Acrylic – A privacy-friendly sheet that still lets natural light through but obscures the view for added discretion. Ideal if you want privacy without blocking daylight.

Measure Your Window

1. Measure the open window space (the gap you want to cover).
2. Add 40mm to both the width and the height to allow for the 20mm tape area around each edge.

Example: If your opening is 500mm × 600mm, you will enter 540mm × 640mm as your total size.

Select Cutout for AC Hose

  • Tick "Yes" to Cutout for AC Hose in the additional options.
  • Choose the correct shape for your AC hose ducting (Rectangle or Circle).
  • Enter your hose diameter in millimetres.
  • You can also adjust the cutout position to match your setup.

Add Hook and Loop Tape

Add the Hook and Loop Tape accessory to secure the sheet to your window frame.
Each roll is 5 metres long - choose the quantity based on your total window perimeter. To work out the perimeter add the height plus the width and then times by two.

Installation

⏱ ~10 minutes ✓ No tools needed
1

Prep the window

Open the window fully. Wipe the frame clean and dry — the velcro grips best on a clean surface.

2

Check the fit

Verify the dimensions match your window opening plus the 20mm for the velcro tape all around the frame. Confirm the hole is the correct size for your AC hose.

3

Apply the velcro

Peel off the backing to the adhesive side of the soft (loop) roll and fix around the window frame. The rough (hook) side goes around the panel edge.

4

Press the panel into place

Line up the panel with the frame and press firmly. The velcro grips immediately.

5

Thread the hose, turn it on

Feed your AC exhaust hose straight through the hole — no need for the grey adapter that came in the box. Optional - Seal any small gaps with foam or tape for maximum efficiency.

📦 End of summer

Peel the panel off the frame — the velcro releases cleanly with a steady pull. Store the panel flat over the winter months.

Frequently asked questions

Will this work with my Meaco, EcoAir, De'Longhi, Black+Decker or Pro Breeze portable AC?

Yes — our seal is custom-cut to fit any window and any hose. As long as you know your hose diameter (usually 130mm or 150mm), it’ll work with any UK portable AC unit.

What hose diameter do I need?

Check your AC’s manual or measure the external diameter of the exhaust hose. The most common UK sizes are 130mm and 150mm. If you’re between two sizes, round up.

Do I still need the plastic adapter that came with my AC?

No. The grey window slider kit that came in the box with your portable AC unit is designed for the flimsy fabric kit, it’s not needed with our solid acrylic panel. Your AC hose threads straight through the hole we cut. Just measure the external diameter of the hose for your cutout measurement.

Should I choose clear or frosted?

Clear if you want to keep the view through the window. Frosted if you want privacy — most ground-floor bedrooms and overlooked rooms go for frosted.

Can I still open my window with the panel installed?

Once the panel is up, the window stays open behind it (that’s how the AC works). For seasonal removal, the velcro releases cleanly — no permanent fixings.

How long does delivery take?

Most orders are cut and dispatched within 2–3 working days. Delivery times depend on your postcode — enter it in the configurator for an exact estimate.

Can I install this in a sash window?

Yes, with two caveats: the panel has to fill the full open height (which can be very tall on older sashes), and you’ll need to wedge the sash in place so it doesn’t slide down onto the panel. Most customers find it works fine once installed.

How long does the panel last?

Acrylic doesn’t degrade in normal indoor use and has a 10-year guarantee against weathering. Store flat at the end of each season and it should serve you well for many hot summers to come.

Delivery depends on the size of your order

I actually had a hole cut slightly smaller than needed as I know the tubes are flexible for a really good fit. It did the job no other fixing or tape needed.

The skirt type window seal that came with my air con unit, was sent flying out of the window along with my sanity! So I looked for a better solution and found "Cut My". Great website, I did get a little confused when trying to work out where to have the hole cut but as you can see I think I nailed it. I can still partly lower my electric blind to help block the afternoon sun. Great service, and sanity restored.
